Green ideas, turned into help for students.
Youth4Greatness started with a vegetable stall and a question: what if the things we already do — eat, read, outgrow our clothes — could pay for someone else's education?
Our story
In 2026 a group of Newark Academy high school students began planning a Saturday stall at their town's farmers market, selling fresh vegetables from a local family farm. The farm agreed to wholesale prices. The students decided that every dollar of profit should go to students whose families could not afford a laptop or textbooks.
The idea grew. Used school books were piling up at home; so were clothes that no longer fit. Both could be collected, resold at student-friendly prices and turned into the same fund. What had been one project became three, and in October 2026 the students' families incorporated Youth4Greatness Foundation Inc. as a New Jersey nonprofit to hold them all.
What we believe
- Students can run real things. Not a club, not a fundraiser — an organization with a bank account, a board and an annual report.
- Nothing should go to waste. Unsold produce goes to local community meal programs or other nonprofit organizations. Unsold books and clothes are passed on, never thrown out.
- Help should be quiet. Students in need are nominated by school counselors and receive what they need without ever being named.
- Every dollar should arrive whole. Our families cover permits, transport and this website, so profit goes to students, not overhead.
Who we are
Youth4Greatness Foundation is founded and run by Newark Academy high school students, who serve as Program Directors for each program. A three-member Board of Trustees — parents and one independent trustee — provides the minimum adult supervision the law requires: approving grants, signing filings and keeping the books honest.
We are based in New Jersey.
